Patrons Speak…

Art plays an important role in our lives. It enhances the quality of a space and brings a positive impact on our wellbeing. As an artist my intention has always been to engage the viewer in a visual dialogue with me, looking for that authentic connection, for a richer experience beyond our individual realities and perceptions. I sincerely thank all the patrons for their kind words.

Excelsis

In-Excelsis by Lydia Panart

When Lydia met with me at her studio, she discussed the inspiration for some of her pieces which helped me enjoy her art even more.

She was warm and friendly as well as generous with her time.

Lydia went out of her way to allow me to see her art in my space to help me make a decision. I admire my painting every day!

Diving Through Waves

Huellas by Lydia Panart

My husband and I have been collecting art over the years, and as an aspiring artist myself, I love its varied forms. One of our absolute favourite pieces holds a very special place in our cottage in Muskoka.  It is a beautiful abstract painting by Lydia Panart that I fell in love with at first sight!  We admire it every day, as the colour, texture and depth of the piece is mesmerizing.

Escape

Escape - Abstract Painting by Lydia Panart

I first met Lydia in a professional capacity and I was able to enjoy watching her creative talents as she inspired young students. I am so excited to have acquired one her stunning works of art.  My family and I are able to enjoy it daily as it sits above our mantle in a room where I both start and end my day.  I am continually mesmerized by the rich hues, the balance of rigid lines and fluid shapes and the beautiful movement they create!  It will be forever treasured!

Mirage

Eclipse by Lydia Panart

I purchased Mirage from Lydia Panart about 12 years ago. It sits over my fireplace. I still love it the same as I did when I first purchased it. I like the subtle colours & warmth it gives off. It’s a comforting piece which is enjoyed by many. I love all of Lydia’s work. Her paintings have great detail, colour & an interesting story behind every image. Lydia has a fantastic eye for perfection.

Moon Shadow in a Field of Gold

Huellas by Lydia Panart

When I first saw this painting, I was mesmerized. I remember feeling calm and at peace. It almost feels liquid and alive, like a snapshot of something that is eternally flowing. Sometimes I feel like I’m looking at the desert and just watching how the sand moves with time. It’s a very meditative piece. It’s the first thing I see when I wake up and the last thing I see before I sleep. And I wouldn’t have it any other way. I don’t know how long I’ve had it but it feels like it was always meant to be mine. I can’t say I’ve felt this way about any other work of art.

Swell

“I was searching for a piece that would honor the tsunamis that can crash through our lives, changing things forever – leaving those who survive with the opportunity to rebuild. I also wanted something to remind me of the crashing waves of the east coast and the translucence of water as it pours onto a beach in Tofino. SWELL fills me.”

New Light

Huellas by Lydia Panart

“I met Lydia through a friend and was immediately charmed by her warmth and exuberance for life. Lydia took the time to understand my preferences and tastes before recommending a few pieces for my new office. The painting I chose speaks to me on a spiritual and aesthetic level. It radiates a calm yet uplifting energy. Every time I open my door to my office I am greeted by the beauty and understated opulence of this piece. It’s a great way to start my day.”

Our Special World

“My husband and I are thrilled to own one of Lydia’s paintings. Lydia’s work is so vibrant and full of life… it inspires and brings joy. We asked Lydia to create a piece that captures the colours and energy of the ocean. Lydia’s vision amazed us. Proudly this painting is displayed in the entrance of our home and its spirit captures everyone who enters.”

When the Sacred Becomes Present and Tangible

In-Excelsis by Lydia Panart

This abstract painting holds a very special place in my heart…. There is a parallel experience that Lydia and I share about the Basilica de la Sagrada Familia.

Both of us without knowing each other had the opportunity to visit it when the Basilica was covered in scaffolding, and we were unable to enter it. I recall being deeply moved by all of Gaudi’s architecture, and I knew that one day I would return to Barcelona. As an architect, I cannot imagine what fascination and utter intrigue the Sagrada Familia must have held for Lydia. We both felt at the time that we will return.

In 2018, 13 years later, I had the pleasure of taking a much more in-depth tour of Gaudi’s works.  It was a glorious summer day, and the Sagrada Familia was the final stop.  My 18-year-old daughter and I craned our neck and tried to take in all of the exterior sculptures, examining the extraordinary statues and listening to the stories that the guide shared with us.  When we entered the Basilica, we just sat… stared…speechless…overwhelmed… and almost incapable of processing the glorious prisms of light filtering through the windows. It was almost too much to take in after a day of all that we had seen and experienced.

Through her artistry, Lydia succeeded in capturing the essence of her second experience – hers, and in many ways my own. The painting is complex, fascinating, loving and I can actually feel the love and gratitude that it emanates.
